Steven M. Rowan, DMD

Dr. Rowan was born and raised in Merced, California.  He attended local schools and graduated from Merced High School in 1974. 

Dr. Rowan graduated from Brigham Young University in 1979 with a B.S. degree in Zoology.  He then moved with his family to St. Louis, Missouri for four years where he attended, and graduated from Washington University's School of Dental Medicine in 1983 with a DMD (Doctor of Dental Medicine) degree.

Dr. Rowan then received four years of specialized training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at University Hospitals of Cleveland/Case Western Reserve University School of Dentistry from 1983-1987.  While there he was trained in all aspects of oral and maxillofacial surgery, including exodontia (teeth extractions), dental implants, orthognathic surgery (upper and lower jaw surgeries), pathology, trauma, etc.

Dr. Rowan elected to return home to Merced with his family in 1987.  He has a wife, five children and four grandchildren.  He is a member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Sugery, the California Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, the American Dental Association, the California Dental Association, and the Yosemite Dental Society, where he served as president for two years (1990-1992).
